[personal profile] pauamma posting in [site community profile] dw_wiki
I'm currently unable to log in to the DW wiki using OpenID. It looks like my OpenID URL, http://pauamma.dreamwidth.org/ or https://pauamma.dreamwidth.org/ (normally use the former, tried the latter as well just in case) became disconnected from my wiki username, which was Pauamma. When I click on the "Log in / create account with OpenID" button, I'm not logged in as used to be the case, but presented with a wiki special page that apparently wants me to confirm my username (and password? but I don't have a password, because OpenID). Clicking the "Log in / create account with OpenID" button (present on that page as well) leads me to http://wiki.dreamwidth.net/wiki/index.php/Special:OpenIDLogin/ChooseName which contains nothing of use, whether I enter a password or leave that field empty. I also tried a password reset email, but got no email after 23 hours. (Although something must have happened, because when I try again, I get an "A password reset email has already been sent, within the last 24 hours." error message.)

Any way I can log in?

The password reset email should've gone to your @dreamwidth.org address and you do need to know the password in order to associate a new OpenID URL. The http and https URLs are considered distinct by the OpenID standard. You can have multiple OpenID URLs associated with your wiki account, and I've successfully done this with my account.

Since you're not able to retrieve your password for whatever reason, I've added your https URL directly in the wiki database. Let me know if that works.

Yep, [staff profile] mark inadvertently switched on HTTPS everywhere by changing CDN services. The new one just returns HTTPS redirects up front without letting any plain HTTP through. We've had some fun times chasing down redirect loops and stuff.

Since db editing worked for you, I've done the same thing for the other 91 DW-linked OpenID users on the wiki.

Yes, I went down that particular rathole last night as well and ended up requesting removal of the wiki IP from a blacklist. Not sure that will be a permanent fix.

More than one blacklist. Not related to content of any emails, but just the fact of Rackspace not encouraging direct SMTP out from the IP space. Eugh. I don't think un-blacklisting is practical. We'll probably just move it to AWS or something.
